Mashona/Angus Cattle

Commercial Cattle

Bulls

We initially raised Angus cattle. After managing them with nature for several years and with almost no inputs, we decided to introduce Mashonas.

We added the Mashona breed to our herd because they are compact in size, heat resistant, tick resistant and efficient grazers. They have a strong herding instinct and they maintain their body condition with no inputs.

This cross is desirable because it maintains marketability for North American producers due to the Angus genetics as well as the Mashona’s natural ability to perform on grass making them the perfect composite for our operation.

Just like the goats, we do not worm or feed our cows. It hasn’t been necessary due to the fact that we rotationally graze them in a way that gives them an abundance of variety in fresh pastures while stockpiling for the dormant season.
